Carla Barclay, LMFT

I believe in creating a nonjudgmental space where you can come as you are- not the perfect, polished version you may feel pressure to be in the world. Whether you are suffering from depression, anxiety, grief and loss, unresolved trauma, substance abuse issues, or challenges in relationships, I am here to provide a space to explore these issues and foster personal growth. I believe that you are the expert in your life, and I am there to provide the support and feedback you need to address life’s challenges, identify barriers, explore solutions, and help you achieve your goals.

Over the past 25 years, I’ve been privileged to have opportunities to work with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. I use a variety of therapeutic approaches— Client Centered, Cognitive Behavioral, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), and mindfulness-based practices – in an effort to help you discover the happy, peaceful life we all desire.

Together we can work on acceptance, healthy coping skills, and letting go of bad habits. Without judgment, we will build an understanding of who you are as a person so as to realize your strengths, fortify them, and create a healthier, happier you.

If you have already done talk therapy, and find yourself continuing to struggle with issues related to traumatic events in your past, EMDR is widely believed to be the number one treatment for trauma, in it’s ability to access and process these events, allowing you to move past them. It might be time to try something different.
