Matthew Kinoshita, LMFT

Matthew is a Marriage and Family Therapist in practice for over a decade. The vast majority of Matthew's experience is in Clinical Directorship of Addiction Treatment Centers in addition to adjunct professorship of MFT Theories and Practicum.  Matthew has also been a clinical supervisor mentoring dozens of Associates in preparation for licensure. Matthew is a graduate of UC Davis and the California School of Professional Psychology.  Matthew is also a certified coach in the science of Flow States. 

In private practice, Matthew works with adults focusing on self actualization, life transitions, and moving forward through crises. Leveraging his vast experience teaching and coaching, he will tailor your sessions utilizing empirically validated therapeutic models matched to your individual learning style and preferences.  A client can expect an authentic, impactful, direct approach to attacking problems and seeking solutions.  

Outside of work, these days Matthew can be found coaching his daughter's softball teams, son's baseball teams, and cooking.   Past careers included advertising executive, teaching, certified snowboard and ski instructor, director of a financial literacy non-profit organization, and recruiter.   Matthew has also lived abroad and leverages his experience of culture, diversity, and different geographical locations to understand the subjective experience of all his clients and their needs.
